Movie Review (Buffy The Vampire Slayer,1992):

I decided to whip out my old collection of VHS movies and watch Buffy The Vampire Slayer. That movie is the true definition of valley girl. The whole "Gag me with a spoon!" "Like no way! Totally!" the true 90's style lingo that will never go out of style. Man I sure miss the 90's! This is the movie that spawned the popular t.v. show titled "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. Buffy (Kristy Swanson) is the type of girl that everyone wanted to be like in High School. Popular, beautiful, hott boyfriend, nice body, cheerleader captain and so on. Buffy and her friends head to the mall cause that's what valley girls do, they shop. That's where she meets Merrick (Donald Sutherland) when their all in the elevator and he stops the door to get a closer look at Buffy cause he knows who she was meant to be. He stops the door and Buffy calls out "Excuse me, rude much!" and her friends continue to call him a crazy homeless man as the elevator door closes. Okay, every one really need to watch what they say to people they don't even know. You say the wrong thing to the wrong person and you end up getting yourself shot
They all go to the movies after their shopping spree and they meet these two guys that of course don't like them since their punk rock dudes and punks don't get along with the preps. Well one of the punk guys Benny (David Arquette) heads off on his own and suddenly he gets jump by none other then a VAMPIRE. And after that you know what happens he gets turned into one. Merrick finds Buffy and tells her that he needs to talk to her in the cemetery but she's a little nervous about doing that. Oh yeah let's all go hang out with hobo's in the cemeteries, loads of fun! They get there and he tells her about how she is the chosen one and it's up to her to kill all the vampires to save the world. She freaks and doesn't want to believe it cause it's crazy but he tells her about how the chosen one always have dreams about being a warrior something on the line of that and she finally decides to be the vampire slayer cause she knew she was having those dreams.
She spends all her time training for the fight against the vampires that she doesn't talk to her friends anymore and they begin to ignore her and not hang out with her. Prom night comes along and she flips out at Merrick cause she's mad at her friends for ignoring her and all she wants to do is go to Europe, marry Jeffery Slater and die. Wow some ambitions you got girl! She's at the prom and finds out that her boyfriend broke up with her through her answering machine (true douche bag material) and hooks up with one of her dumb awkward friends. The other punk rock guy Pike (Luke Perry) tells Buffy that she needs to keep doing what she's doing and be the vampire slayer that she was born to be. After that the vampire attack hits the prom and starts biting all the students. Buffy slays the vampire king and saves the day and everyone is happy, well everyone that survived that is. :D That pretty much sums up the whole movie minus boring dream scenes and less 90's lingo, not the best vampire movie but still fun to watch and laugh at the acting and valley girl moments. Cause we've all met a valley girl at one point in our life, I swear their every where!

I give this movie 3 out of 5 Skulls

Movie Review (Vacancy):

I watched Vacancy a few weeks ago and it was good, not great just good. It's about this couple David (Luke Wilson) and Amy Fox (Kate Beckinsale) on vacation and they end up getting lost cause David sucks at directions. Their car breaks down right in front of an old gas station. Isn't it a little odd that their car happens to break down right when they get to the gas station??? Somethings not right here. The mechanic jumps out of nowhere and scares the couple, pansies! He fixes their car and asks where their going and David being the dumb ass that he is tells him! Let's get one thing straight here, you never tell a total stranger where your going. Why? I don't know maybe it's so he wont go there and try to kill you. He gives them directions on how to get there since he's such a great citizen. Pfff! They drive up to a motel where they decide to stay and get some sleep and they don't even think twice about what the motel looks like. It's okay shady motels are in style these days. They walk through the door and they hear screaming and instantly their confused as to what's going on. If I walked through the door of a shady looking motel and heard screaming coming from the back room I wouldn't stand there and wait to see what's going on I would get the hell out of there. Nope that's not true I wouldn't even stop and go inside, I'm sorry but I'm not sleeping on hooker sheets. The motel attendant finally comes out to help them and tells them that the screaming is coming from a tape recorder cause it gets boring at night, um I'm all for having kinky fetishes cause I have a few ;) but that's just effing weird. Oh before I forget, the attendant looks just as shady as the motel does. CLASSIC!! He sets them up in a room and once they get settled in Amy just wants to sleep but David wants to pop in a video tape that just so happens to be sitting on the t.v. Dude, haven't you seen the ring?! The tape plays and it shows a bunch of girls in a motel room being tortured and killed by two masked killers. He takes the tape out and puts in another one and it shows just one girl being killed by the same killers, he puts in the last tape and it's a husband and wife being killed. After watching the last tape he realizes that each tape is filmed in the same room and he realizes that their in that exact room. Someone starts banging on the doors and windows just like in the tapes. They freak out cause they know that if they don't get out of the motel their going to be the stars of the next horror movie.They hide and call the cops for help cause that's what you do when you're in trouble and some one's on you're ass trying to kill you. The cop shows up searches the motel and finds the video tapes and of course he freaks out that's when David and Amy run out so they jump in the police car and notices that the killers messed up the wires so the car wont start then they shoot the cop. Amy and David run back to the room and wait there for a minute then Amy hides in the closet while David is out in the open and the killer jumps out and stabs David while the shady motel attendant is filming the whole thing. Sick bastard! Later on Amy runs to her car and tries to drive off but the killer jumps onto her car while the car is in motion and tries to grab her then Amy drives right through the room and hits the other killer pinning him against the wall and that obviously kills him. The other killer's head goes through the windshield and dies. Amy jumps out and gets in a fight for her life with the attendant, he throws her against the room and she lands by a gun that's lying on the floor and shoots him, that gun sure came in handy. She calls the police again to tell them she needs help and you know what they say?! "Oh we already sent out a officer" No shit Sherlock, and they killed him! Stupid cops.

Amy runs back to David her husband that's laying on the floor by the motel door all bloody. She starts crying and turns him over and that wakes him up. He's not dead just "out of it" well he did get stabbed and lose a lot of blood, I'd be out of it too, then the movie is over. This movie wasn't bad I just think they should of added more stuff to it, I don't know what I just know it could of used a little more pop to it. I know it needed more blood, for being the type of movie that it is, it definitely needs more blood. I give this movie 3 1/2 out of 5 Skulls.

Movie Review(A Nightmare On Elm Street,1984):

A Nightmare On Elm Street is my favorite horror movie and Freddy Krueger is my favorite horror villain. I'm surprised I haven't made a review for this movie cause I live for all the Freddy movies. I'm pretty sure everyone knows how the movie is and what the concept is about but oh well you get to sit through it again. :D A Nightmare On Elm Street is about a group of friends all living on Elm Street in Spring wood Ohio. Tina (Amanda Wyss) and Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) and Glen (Johnny Depp) are walking to school and Tina starts talking about the dream she had and how it felt so real and it scared her. She describes the dream and Nancy realizes that their both having the same dream but she shrugs it off cause their just dreams and they don't mean anything.Tina's mom goes out of town for the weekend so she has Nancy, Glen, and her boyfriend Rod (Jsu Garcia) spend the night at her house since she doesn't want to be by herself cause her nightmare made her scared to be alone. Later on in the night while everyone is sleeping Tina and Rod decide to do the nasty. Come on haven't you people learned you're lesson already? If your going to be in a slasher movie then don't have sex cause that's like having a neon sign on you're door saying "Come kill me! I'm ready!" You have sex in a slasher movie you die so maybe everyone should stop doing the deed then you'll survive. Wow! a loop hole, I found the way to stay alive! Too bad everyone nowadays are bunch of horn dogs and they can't help themselves since they have "needs" and they know their still going to die whether they have sex or not so they might as well get some before they die.
Tina finally falls asleep and she starts having her dream again but this time she gets a better look at who's trying to kill her. She freaks (duh) and runs towards the door cause she's suddenly outside. Well that didn't work cause she tripped and fell. Why do they always do that? I swear they start running but they end up tripping or running into the wall and the killer gets them. Typical! Freddy grabs her and tries to "claw" her while Tina is trying to fight him off but she's not strong enough and he slashes her chest open. While this is happening she's freaking out in her sleep which wakes up Rod and she floats up to the ceiling she falls onto the bed once Freddy kills her. Nancy and Glen hear screams coming from Tina's room and run to see what's going on to see Tina all cut up and bloody on her bed and Rod covered in Tina's blood. The police get called and they arrest Rod since he was the only one in the room at the time of Tina's death and he was covered in her blood. Stupid cops! Don't you know that there's a killer that stalks you're dreams and when you die in you're dream you die in real life?! Guess not.
Nancy starts having more dreams about Freddy which makes her not want to fall asleep. She tries talking to her mom about it but she just ignores it and says their just dreams nothing more. Well she's clearly hiding something and Nancy gets to the bottom of it and her mom finally spill the beans and tells her that there was this man named Fred Krueger who was a child murderer and he was arrested but let out cause the judge couldn't find the arrest warrant something like that so they had to release him. Well that pissed off the parents of Spring wood so they decided to take matters into their own hands and tracked him down and they found him in his boiler room where he hangs out at. Hey Children Of The Corn had the cornfield, Freddy has his boiler room. Don't judge. The parents burned him alive and after he died he becomes Freddy Krueger and he gets revenge on the kids of parents of Spring wood who wronged him.

The movie continues with Nancy trying to defeat Freddy and you get to see a awesome death scene of Johnny Depp. That has to be the best death scene ever, blood galore! She pulls Freddy out of her dream and they battle it out then Nancy finally "kills" Freddy and she wakes up to a beautiful day and she and her friends head off to school. You think it's over right? Well it's not cause there's 5 sequels including Wes Craven's New Nightmare. Freddy grabs Nancy's mom and pulls her through the door while Glen's car drives off by itself with everyone inside screaming. I wish I had a car that drove itself, that would be so awesome. Reach for the stars.

I give this movie 5 out of 5 Skulls

Horror Movie Quotes(Children Of The Corn,1984):

"Outlander!, Outlander! We have you're woman!" - Malachai

Movie Review(The Lost Boys, 1987):

People ask me what the hell has happened to vampires these days, I respond "Vampires died when Twilight was born" and you know what, the sad thing is that it's true. Vampires use to be one of the best horror villains ever created by the wonderful Bram Stoker with "Dracula" but once Twilight came out they all died. That's why I love The Lost Boys it's seriously the best vampire movie ever made. Once Lucy (Dianne Wiest) gets divorced she decides she needs some financial help along with raising her two sons Micheal (Jason Patric) and Sam (Corey Haim) and they move to a small coast town in California to live with their grandfather, Lucy's dad. Micheal and Sam take a tour around the local amusement park which is where Micheal meets Star (Jami Gertz) and learns about rumors of mysterious deaths caused by vampires and he shrugs it off cause why would you believe rumors about vampires from someone you just met? You have no idea who this person is and you don't know if they could be off their rocker, they have to be if they believe in vampires.Later on Star introduces Micheal to David (Kiefer Sutherland) the leader of the vampire gang and turns him into a vampire. You start to wonder where Sam is during all this time, well he's just minding his own business until he starts to realize that something is not right with his brother. He sleeps ALL day and he's only awake during the night and when he's actually awake during the day he wears sunglasses. Sam befriends two kids Alan Frog (Jamison Newlander) and Edgar Frog (Corey Feldman) who work at the local comic book store who claim to be vampire hunters riiiiight, that's like me claiming to be a zombie hunter but I wouldn't be a hunter I'd be part of the zombie army. They ban together to fight off the gang of vampires to get to the vampire leader to save his brother. They all know once they kill the leader then Micheal is saved but the only problem with that is they have no idea who the leader is. They think it's David but come to find out it's not so they have to go through out the movie trying to find who it is.
This movie was awesome and did the vampire clan justice and I loved every minute of it. It was funny, it was gorey, it had a twist at the end of the movie and each scene kept up with the last one. One of the things I hate about movies is they can't keep the movie flowing evenly, the scenes wont match the last one and you end up being confused and not liking the movie cause it's not entertaining when you have to think really hard about the movie since they didn't make it easy for you to follow it. The Lost Boys was very good it even made a sequel, almost 10 years later with a whole new cast lol. The funny thing is in the sequel The Lost Boys: The Tribe the villain in that movie is Angus Sutherland who is the younger half brother of Kiefer Sutherland who played the villain in the 1987 Lost Boys. Small world huh?!

I give this movie 5 out of 5 Skulls.

Music Mondays(Avenged Sevenfold. Nightmare):

I've mentioned before that one of my all time favorite bands is Avenged Sevenfold. Back in 2006 me and my friends when to see Co heed And Cambria in concert and Avenged Sevenfold was the opening band and that's when I fell in love with them. I've heard their song Bat Country before the concert and I liked it but seeing them in concert is what sold me. Their the type of band that everyone should look up too. You can truly tell that they love what their doing and their not just doing it for the money, their doing it for their fans. If they didn't get paid for making music and it was just for the mere fact of making their fans happy they would totally do that. This band is in the top 3 bands that has changed my life and has helped me get through some tough times. They mentioned on Facebook that their new single Nightmare from their new up and coming album "Nightmare" will be released on Itunes May 18Th.Before then I headed over to YouTube to listen to the song, I have to say these guys are freakin genius they sure know how to make a song. The first part of the song was a soft melody that was creepy yet wonderful then it switched to the good stuff with the hard head banging sounds. They should of had this song out so it could be on the soundtrack to the A Nightmare On Elm Street remake cause this song would of been perfect for that movie.

The metal/rock band started in Huntington Beach California when a group of friends decided to fulfill their life long dream to start a rock band. With their extraordinary talent and extremely good looks along with their hardcore bad ass style Avenged Sevenfold was born. They came out with two Cd's titled "Sounding The Seventh Trumpet" in 2001 and "Waking The Fallen" in 2003, but it was the Cd "City Of Evil" in 2005 that got the boys some recognition they deserved with their single "Bat Country". (yes, that was the first song I heard from them)

The band members are:

M. Shawdows - Vocals
Synyster Gates- Lead Guitar
Zacky Vengeance- Rhythm Guitar
Johnny Christ - Bass
The Rev - Drums

Sad to announce that Avenged Sevenfold lost one of their band members. Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan passed away December 28Th, 2009 from natural causes. My heart and prayers goes out to Avenged Sevenfold and The Sullivan family. He has surely made history as one of the best drummers ever made. They will be accompanied by Mike Portnoy of Dream Theatre on the drums for the Uproar tour. Check their website http://www.avengedsevenfold.com/ for tour dates.

Lets Bend Over Backwards For The Last Exorcism:

I heard about the new horror flick The Last Exorcism on FEARnet and I instantly thought HOTT DAMN!! My favorite type of horror movies are slasher movies, zombie movies and anything that has to do with the supernatural like demons, ghosts, witches and the devil. I LOVE possession movies, it's like I tell my friends when we're talking about the type of movies we like, they would always say they like Si-Fi movies like aliens, not me I HATE alien movies. Give me a good'ole devil possession any day. You have no idea how excited I am about this movie. Hollywood horror has gone done hill and we the horror fans need a horror movie that's going to show everyone what horror really is. Enough with the bullshit remakes, enough with the comedy horror. I can't think of any movie that tried to mix comedy into horror that didn't suck cause they all did. *cough cough Drag Me To Hell cough cough* The Last Exorcism will be making it's debut this month at the LA Film Fest and arriving in theatres August 27Th. Produced by Eli Roth, written by Huck Botko & Andrew Gurland, and directed by Daniel Stamm

The movie is about a troubled evangelical minister who agrees to let his last exorcism be filmed by a documentary crew. But upon arriving at the already blood drenched family farm, it is soon clear that nothing could have prepared him for the true evil he encounters there. Now, too late to turn back, Reverend Marcus' own beliefs are shaken to the core when he and his crew must find a way to save Nell (the girl who is possessed) - and themselves - before it's too late. This movie looks like it's going to be a huge hit in the horror community and I can't wait. I'm in need of some good old fashion horror that the horror movies nowadays aren't cutting it and I think this movie will break that mold and bring horror back to it's roots where it belongs
