Music Mondays: Glory Days - Can't get enough

A week or so ago I got a message on Twitter from Steve Patrick the drummer from the band Glory Days. He brought his band to my attention and I decided to check them out. To be honest I was a little afraid I wasn't going to like them cause I'm very picky when it comes to music and movies. To my surprise and relief I actually liked them. :D Their EP "Summer of Love" was released in May of this year and it's the ultimate Summer album. When I'm listening to their song "Can't get enough" I can imagine myself laying poolside while sipping a strawberry daiquiri. That's what music should be like, songs should be so intriguing that you can picture yourself in a wonderful happy place that puts you in a great mood. I love music that does that, ever since I was little I have always been a lover of day dreams which is why I have such a undying love for music.

Listening to music let's my mind wandering into a magical place buuut not every band has the talent to be able to wake up my little dream fairy. Once I hear a band that is amazing my dream fairy comes out to play. Thanks to Glory Days my dream fairy has been awaken once again. Their song "Can't get enough" is such a happy song and you can't help but smile while you're listening to it. Even though I mainly listen to hard rock music but it's also nice to have something mellow and bubbly to listen to. If you're ever feeling upset or if you're in a bad mood all you have to do is listen to "Can't get enough." I'm serious, it's THAT good! Even though they're just starting out, I see a bright future ahead of them playing big arena shows.

I know I've mentioned all this before on the rest of the bands I've posted on here but you need to know that I wouldn't of taken the time to make a post dedicated to a band if I didn't think they had talent and I didn't think they were going to go far in their music career. Even though summer has come to an end you can still turn on "Can't get enough" and picture yourself poolside sipping a strawberry daiquiri. If you think about it, their song is kind of diiiiiirty, I like it! ;)

Glory Days hails from New Jersey with Andy on vocals, Dylan on guitar, Ian on guitar, Julian on bass and Steve on the drums.
What makes this band even more awesome, the boys are pretty good looking! :D I'm a sucker for musicians.

Remember Way Back When.........

We didn't have vampires sparkling in the sunlight??? I was talking to one of my co-workers about vampires and Twilight and it spawned this post. I was telling her that I hate vampires because Twilight ruined them for me. Stephanie Meyer took one of the greatest movie monsters and shit all over it. I also had a conversation about this with my sister a few weeks back and she said that everyone has their own opinion of how vampires are. I love my sister but I completely disagree with that, there is only ONE definition of vampires, real vampires. Thanks to Stephanie Meyer there's now two but I don't classify "Twilight vampires" as real vampires. Vampires were born from Bram Stroker's Dracula and he was no sparkly fruit cake! REAL vampires hypnotized you and sucked you're blood turning you into a vampire.

When you think of vampires what should come to mind is a dark, sick and twisted, blood thirsty vampire, NOT the Twilight vampires. One of my friends asked me what has happened to the good old fashioned evil vampire and I told her that vampires went to Hell when Twilight was born. Even though my favorite movie monster are zombies I still loved vampires and I want the real ones to come back and for Twilight to fall in a hole. How dare Stephanie Meyer ruin the vampire generation, she should be ashamed of herself. Twilight is pretty much a slap in Bram Stroker's face and I feel bad. Stroker created something magnificent, Dracula is such a beautiful creature and you end up lusting over him, at least I did. ;) Even though I hate vampires I LOVE Dracula and the whole story of him.

All I want is for things to go back to how they use to be and how it should. The Twilight vampire is not a real vampire and we shouldn't call them vampires, we should call them sparkly fruit cakes. I've been tempted to write Stephanie Meyer a letter letting her know how mad I am for what she did to vampires. She needs to know that there are a lot of people out there hating her and angry for what she did and what she created. It's not like her books are even good, I've read the first 3 books and tried to read the 4Th but I just couldn't. I thought the books were okay enough to make me want to see the movie and I was even excited about it, I'm embarrassed to admit that. When you think about it, the books are kinda lame and she's not the greatest writer. I'm not too fond of her writing and I won't read any other books that she's written. Stephen King even said in an interview that she was a horrible writer and that the Twilight books aren't very good.

If Stephen King doesn't like a certain writer and books then you know something is wrong. He is the Master of Horror after all and he's won shit loads of awards and almost all of his books were made into movies. I just love how all the Twilight fans try to stick up for Stephanie Meyer and Twilight calling Stephen King a horrible writer and saying Meyer is better. Really? Riiiiight! Stephanie Meyer doesn't hold a candle to Stephen King, he kicks her ass in more ways then one. I just have one simple request, vampires going back to their Gorey roots and Twilight going bye-bye. If Stephanie Meyer ever reads this I just have 3 words for you. SHAME. ON. YOU!!!!

A Late Music Mondays: I Like To Dance - Hot Chelle Rae

I was going to post this on my Monday but I have been up since 6am so I passed out around 10pm. I didn't want to wait till next Monday to post this so I decided to do a Late Music Mondays, Tuesday Edition. The band/ song I'm featuring for this post is I Like To Dance from Hot Chelle Rae. The first time I heard HCR, I was driving in my car and their song "Tonight, Tonight" came on the radio and I was like "Dude, this song is bangin!" When I got home I decided to look them up and I'm very glad that I did. This band has so much talent and I know they're going to go far. When I was "stalking" them I came across their music video for the song "I Like To Dance." That is one of the coolest songs you will every hear. Listening to that song makes me want to rip off all of my clothes and start dancing in my bra and panties. :D I really like how the music video has a little 80's flare to it cause I love everything that has to do with the 80's.

The only thing I don't like about the music video is that Stephanie Pratt is in it and I'm not too fond of her. Besides that minor thing the video is awesome, so is the song. Once you watch the video and listen to the song you'll understand what I mean about ripping my clothes off. If you haven't heard of this band then you are seriously missing out because their songs are amazing and the guys aren't too bad to look at either. ;)

*Hot Chelle Rae is a pop rock band formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2005. The band consists of Ryan Follese (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Nash Overstreet (lead guitar, backing vocals), Ian Keaggy (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Jamie Follese (drums). Their debut album, Lovesick Electric, was released on October 27, 2009.[1] They are best known for their platinum hit single, "Tonight Tonight".

Hot Chelle Rae began in 2005, with a meeting between singer-songwriter Ryan (RK) and guitarist Nash. The band is named for the first "dedicated" fan, Chelle Rae, a MySpace stalker who provided the band with quite an entertaining era of online activity until her false identity was discovered and brought to light. Overstreet is the son of country music singer Paul Overstreet and the brother of actor Chord Overstreet. The Follesés are the sons of country songwriter Keith Follesé and Keaggy is the son of Phil Keaggy.

In the summer of 2007, the band opened a sold out concert for rapper Lil Jon. Later on that year, they played a string of venues at the prestigious South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas, and then went on tour with the band Vedera.

They were signed to Jive Records in October 2008, and then began work on their first album.

After being signed with Jive Records in 2008, Hot Chelle Rae began work on their debut album with producers Eric Valentine, Butch Walker, and Matt Radosevich. The album, Lovesick Electric, was released on October 27, 2009.

After releasing the single "Tonight Tonight", Hot Chelle Rae skyrocketed to mainstream success. "Tonight Tonight" has peaked at 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 so far.
