Movie Review ( The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Beginning):

I really liked The Texas Chainsaw Massacre so I decided to watch the sequel, The Beginning and eh it was okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as the first one. It was the same old storyline but some added features. In the first part of the movie it shows Leatherface's mom at the slaughter house giving birth to him. Then it shows a timeline of his life till the present day of 1973. What I like about this movie is it shows how Leatherface became who he is. And it has a much hotter cast then the first movie did. The group of kids are on road trip to Mexico before the guys go off to Vietnam. While driving, some bad ass chick on a motorcycle drives up behind them waving a shotgun telling them to pull over. Eric goes to get his gun out of the glove department while he's at the wheel and doesn't see the big fat cow in the middle of the road! In fact none of the idiots saw the cow, I mean really? Is it really that hard to see a big ass cow that happens to be in the middle of the road that your driving on?

You probably know what happens next, the poor cow gets hit and the car tumbles over knocking out one the girls into a field of grass. That's when Officer Hoyt shows up to "help" them. Good'ole officer of the law shoots the biker chick and takes the kids back to his house and that's where they meet Leatherface and the rest of the crazy freaks. This movie is more graphic in the gore then the first one which is two thumbs up with me. It also shows Leatherface skinning the guy's face off of his skull and wearing it. The first movie you didn't see him skinning the people very well, all you see is Leatherface with his "new" face on.

What I don't get is why didn't LF just go off on his own? Why stay with his psycho uncle who is obviously verbally abusive. He's bigger then all of them so of course he could take them out but instead he stays with them letting himself get brainwashed into thinking the world is evil and people are only here to make fun of him and torture him. The only down side of this movie is he didn't use his chainsaw till the very end of the movie. I know it's called the beginning but if he's not going to use it till the end or not at all then maybe it shouldn't be called CHAINSAW Massacre. I'm just saying.

I give this movie 4 out of 5 Skulls.
