100 Followers, YAY!!

I am happy to announce that I now have 100 followers on my blog! I know it's not a lot compared to some of the great ones out there but for me it's a huge milestone that I accomplished. Reaching 100 followers I thought of a cool little thing to do every time I reach a milestone in my followers. Every time I get up to 150, 200, 250 etc followers I am going to spotlight my newest follower that brought me up to those numbers. My 100Th follower was Emma Yardis over at Little Gothic Horrors

Her style of blog is just beautiful and it's nice to meet another fellow horror sister. :D

For more on Emma here is a little bit about her.

"Hi, my name is Emma and I've always been smitten with the supernatural and the spooky. I have created this blog to be a dwelling place for all things delightfully dark. My family, my cat and my friends are the centre of my universe, and a night spent at home with a DVD and a Chinese take-away is my idea of a party. An actual party, oddly enough, is not my idea of a party." - Emma

Go show some love on her site because she deserves it, her blog is amazing and thanks to her I have 100 followers. Thank you Emma!! :D

Ramblings of Jenny Krueger Ft. Leprechaun 3!

In Leprechaun 3, the Leprechaun heads to Las Vegas to continue his rein of terror since the first two movies wasn't enough for him. This movie is the same as the first two. Leprechaun loses gold coin, stupid boy finds gold coin then the Leprechaun gets pissed and screams out "I want me gold!!" Once Scott gets his hands on the gold coin his rush of good luck happens and he goes on a winning streak in one of the casinos. You see, this gold coin isn't a normal coin. If you get a hold of it you'll have a rush of good luck but once you lose it (which everyone does) your luck turns sour, kinda like the rabbits foot. That's basically the whole movie for you. The coin makes it's way through a group of people and once they lose it they die mixed in with bad acting and then the Leprechaun gets killed off........ Or does he???

Onto Ramblings of Jenny Krueger!!

1: Why do they have the Leprechaun introduced into this movie as a stone statue? He didn't even get turned into stone in the last movie, he was blown up.

2: It's really annoying how these movies always hire people who can't act. Yeah I understand these movies came out in the 80's/90's but come on, I haven't seen this bad of acting since the Disney channel.

3: Why do we always have to see sequels of a movie that should of stopped at 1? I.e. Final Destination, Saw, The Ring, Scream. Even though I LOVE every single NOES movie they really should of stopped after the first one. They also should of just made Friday the 13Th a trilogy.

4: In the movie the manager of the casino Mitch used the coin to make a wish that Tammy would fall in love with him. She falls under the spell of the coin and tells him that she wants him while talking like a baby and being a ditz. That part really bugged me cause she was the perfect example of a dumb blond and me being a natural blond didn't like it. You can act all smitten and flirty without sounding like a baby. "Goo, Goo Gah, Gah!"

5: Every movie they make fun of the Leprechaun being short. Do you not realize that making fun of someone being short is mean? And not to mention that this is a evil Leprechaun and he will kill you if you make him mad.

6: I really love the Leprechaun's dialogue in the movies. He says some of the funniest shit and he always rhythms! :D It's my dream to find a man who's into poetry and who can turn a phrase.

I give this movie 3 1/2 out of 5 Skulls

Why I Adore Lady GaGa...

I don't know if I made this clear with everyone but I have an undying love for Lady GaGa and I adore her. Everything about her, her music, fashion, style, personality, and her love for life just makes me smile. I wanted to take this opportunity to express how much I love this woman. When I first heard her on the radio with the song 'Just Dance' I thought it was Madonna but it was my Queen in the making. Lady GaGa goes out of her way to make her fans happy and you know she truly cares about them.

A lot of singers and actors/actresses always thank their fans when they win an award, when Lady GaGa thank her fans you know she's being sincere. She's doing what she loves to do and she doesn't let anyone hold her back. She has a strong head on her shoulders and she's heading in the right direction. You might think her style is a bit eccentric but I love it. Yeah it's crazy and bizarre but that what makes her special. She wears what she wants and she does what she wants and she doesn't care what other people think.

That's what I love about her, besides her music it's her way of life and knowing that she is really a true genuine person. Growing up in Jr. High and High School I was going through a phase where I was trying to find myself and the type of person I really was. I like to express myself through my style of clothing which was goth mixed with punk rock metal. Nobody liked that, nobody wanted me to dress like that and everyone kept telling me that wasn't the real me and it would make me so mad cause no one knew the real me, but me and no one knew what was going on in my mind and knew how I felt but me.

Because of that whole shabang I was never happy and I was always upset, I could never dress or do what I wanted to without someone voicing their unwanted opinion. The more I fought with everyone the more upset I would be. I tried giving in by dressing the way everyone wanted me too but I just couldn't do it. For me my outfits reflect my mood. If I'm feeling lazy and tired I would wear pj's all day. If I'm feeling great and pretty and in a bubbly mood I like to get all dolled up in cute clothes like I'm going out for a night on the town. With that being said it's no surprise why I wasn't happy with looking the way everyone else wanted me too. After a lot of thinking, bitching and glaring I finally decided enough was enough and I said screw it.

I ignored every one's opinion and dressed the way I wanted to and the way I felt was me. Of course there was scoffing and eye rolling but I just smiled and went on my way. This brings me to the reason why I adore Lady GaGa. She dresses the way she wants and she's not afraid or ashamed to express herself the way she knows is the real her. There's a lot of people out there that think she's weird or crazy but she doesn't care, she's proud of who she is and she should be. There's nothing wrong with being different or bizarre and Lady GaGa is showing the world just that. She is definitely a gift to the world. I love how she goes all out for her shows because she wants to make a lasting impression and she does. You know you made it big when you say the name Lady GaGa and every one's face changes, good or bad. She doesn't just make a lasting impression in her fashion or her shows but also her music.

Come on, her songs are pretty damn catchy and you can totally dance to them. People say that Madonna is the Queen of Pop but I think she has definitely been replaced by the wonderful Lady GaGa. Don't get me wrong I like Madonna's music and I love her style but I think Lady GaGa is ten times better and no one can compare to the beauty that she is. I love her music videos and her songs but most importantly the person she is. She has so much love for everyone she meets and she always tries to make everyone feel good. That is the type of person we all should strive to be. Because of all this, Lady GaGa is my idol and I look up to her. I swear if I met her I most likely will burst into tears, I'm not not joking I probably will. I just love that girl and think she is simply amazing. I just want to end this post with a shout out to Lady GaGa. Lady Gaga I love you, thank you for being you. Here is my favorite song and music video from her. 'Bad Romance.'

My Love Letter To Freddy Krueger

To my wonderful Freddy Krueger, how you make me smile. Your beautiful burned face, your smart ass jokes you make right before you're about to gut someone. And the way you get people to fear you, what can I say.. It's such a turn on. I remember the first time I saw you, yes I'll admit you scared me but in my defense I was 7 years old. I want you to know that I've grown up and I don't fear you, I love you. I want to be by your side when you take a step inside a pour lonely victim's mind. I want you to take me under your arm and teach me your ways.

You, Freddy are the marshmellow to my hot cocoa, the dollar bill to my stripper thong. You complete me. Words cannot describe the love I have for you. Yes there have been rumors that I've been having a secret love affair with Jason Voorhees but I want you to know that It's always been you. When you had that huge feud between Jason I was on your side, I voted for you. I have always loved you and you are the only man for me.

I get chills every time I hear you speak, the comments you make to your victims is just delightful. "Welcome to Prime Time bitch." Awww, classic Freddy. People may say that you're a bad person but they don't know you the way I do, they don't see what I see. I know what type of person you are, yeah you might act like a hard ass but that's just part of your charm. You don't want people to hate you, you want people to love you and I do. You're not a bad person you're just misunderstood. I know deep down that you are a caring and loving person who just wants to show the world how you roll.

Of course, you've been wronged so you rebelled, who hasn't?! I just want you to know that I don't think less of you for that. We all have our troubles and I accept you. I don't want you to think that there isn't someone out there that doesn't understand cause I do. I love you Freddy, don't let those losers tell you what to do, you show them who's boss. You never cease to amaze me. When I saw you in that Fat Boys music video I just thought to myself, that's my man! I won't betray you like your daughter did, I will stand by your side for eternity. So lets jump on your motorcycle of terror and ride through the dream world together. You are simply amazing and I am so grateful I know you. There is no surprise why I took your last name.

Love// Jenny Krueger

Guest Post by Dylan Duarte: Remakes

A few days ago I got a email from Dylan Duarte who is a horror buff just like me asking to write a guest post for my blog. I jumped at the idea since I'm stuck in a rut with writers block and the topic he wanted to talk about is perfect. With the remake of Fright Night coming along it would be a great idea to talk about you're thoughts on the recent remakes in the horror world. The good, the bad and the just plain are you serious?! When Dylan's not writing horror reviews he writes about costumes at http://www.starcostumes.com/

Dylan Duarte

There's something about the horror genre - the films it produces, specifically - that makes the idea of a remake seem particularly appealing. Every genre sees remakes, to be sure, but horror remakes seem to outnumber them all. Why is this?

I have two theories. One is that horror films, especially those from up-and-coming filmmakers, tend to be of lower budget. So when looking for a property that's ripe for a remake, I imagine it's fairly enticing to take a solid film with a small budget and remake it in a grand way.

My other theory is that, because so much of horror is purely concept, that remakes are just easy to come up with. The Friday the 13th films don't really have a plot, just the concept of an undead guy in a hockey mask that slices and dices with a machete. Want to remake a slasher? Just re-do the killer's origin and give him a roster of "modern" teens to disembowel.

Whatever the reason, Hollywood sees a lot of horror remakes. And while remakes are generally shunned, and with good reason, there are more than a few diamonds in the horror rough. With the remake of Fright Night coming to theaters soon, I thought I'd discuss some truly great horror remakes.

The Crazies

A film about a biological weapon's effects on a small town, George Romero's original film was released in 1973. Almost forty years later, a small team of writers bring a remake to theaters starring modern-day Clint Eastwood Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood, Justified). Although the original has become something of a cult classic, it was never truly well-received. The remake, however, was a tense, effective thriller.

Night of the Living Dead

Another Romero film? Relax, we've still got one more to go! While the original Night of the Living Dead remains a classic, and is probably a stronger film, I'll always have a place in my heart for Tom Savini's 1990 remake starring Tony Todd and Patricia Tallman. Romero rewrote his original screenplay for his oft-used special effects and makeup artist to direct from.

Dawn of the Dead

Alright, this is the last of the Romero films. Romero is an accomplished director with an arsenal of great films, so is it any surprise that they're often reproduced? Zack Snyder's 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake had little in common in the original, other than focusing on a group of zombie apocalypse survivors taking shelter in a shopping mall. It was very much a product of its time - faster, gorier, and, in many ways, scarier. It may not be as intelligent as Romero's original, but it's a solid horror flick all the same.

The Fly

I've never seen the 1958 original, but that's alright. This isn't a list of remakes that surpass the original, but remakes that are good films - and David Cronenberg's 1986 remake of The Fly is a very, very good film. Jeff Goldblum gives a memorable performance as a man who accidentally splices himself with a housefly in a teleportation experiment gone wrong. While it's just as much science fiction as it is horror, The Fly is absolutely terrifying.

The Thing

Again, I haven't seen the original black-and-white The Thing From Outer Space and I really have no desire to. John Carpenter's remake of The Thing is, in my opinion, one of the finest horror films ever made and I'm far from alone in that thinking. Wonderful effects, performances, and a setting that's scary all on its own make this "remake" a truly fantastic piece of filmmaking.
